There is something about art galleries that has a certain fascination on people. Art galleries have been around for countless of years and they always enthrall people’s attention. You may stand there now asking yourself why art is such an awe-inspiring and astonishing subject to people around the world. A large amount of people like art because it is a formation within the artist that comes from their heart. The artist uses his heart and spirit when creating such masterpieces. Some artists are so outstanding their names are known around the world. Exhibitions provide all types of paintings and sculptors for people to see and it is a spectacular place to get inspiration.

Some people take art very seriously and travel the world to visit galleries because their passion is to buy art. Buying art can really be a gratifying thing to do and if you find the right painting by the right artist, one day you’ll have a true treasure in your hands. Contemporary art galleries usually provide the ‘up-to-date’ art, such as abstract art. Especially in these days, people long for such works of art. Traditional art galleries, however, provide the old style such as landscapes or impressionism paintings. To put it all in a nutshell it can be said that creative works of art will be alive within the world and still there are many artists yet to be born. Now with all this said, next time you walk out on the city streets, stop by an art exhibition and be bewildered by such exquisiteness regular people can make. You will be astounded by the stimulation you will experience by every painting you see.

Portrait artists specialize in one part of the body. Millions of different faces offer endless painting opportunities. There are many expressions which the human face will make. Portrait artists will never run out of subject material. You as the artist will never get bored as there are many interesting challenges in drawing and painting the human head with its face. There are many hundreds of clicks which a photographer will make before he settles on one photo which captures that special “look” needed for the magazine print. The model in front of the camera had to also pose her face in many directions in order to help the photographer finalize the “look”.

It has been my experience with many worn out erasers how one line can alter a facial appearance. That one line can change the appearance of the eye, ear, nose, and mouth which in turn changes the appearance of the face. One line can add a smile or a frown to a face and that line can also add age or worry to a face. Every line you sketch on your canvas will undo or redo a facial appearance. There are faces expressing happiness, sadness, loneliness, depression, doubt, fear, hate, laughter and much more.

Portrait artists will make many changes to get the expression they want, just as the photographer and model had to be at one in a second of time with the click of a lens to capture that special or unique “look”. There are basic lessons of measurements to learn and memorize for drawing eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips, and ears as everything in our body has set dimensions. As the head tilts the measurements will still remain the same, but the angles cause confusion and you will keep the eraser busy. Do not expect each drawing and portrait to be a masterpiece. Just as the photographer gets bad shots; you too will have a bad portrait. Do not get upset, set it aside, and return another day. You will be amazed how it can be corrected.

Many people are interested in decorating their homes the right way to achieve a space that makes them feel comfortable and cozy. One way to do that is by knowing what your style is and finding pieces that bring you a special feeling. Of course, leaving walls bare is something that must be avoided. Therefore, you should find artwork that interests you and works with your style. Modern art paintings will work in most design schemes and will give your room that boost it may need.

When it comes to modern art paintings, you can frame them or you can leave them as is, on canvas with a thick back that brings them away from the wall. Either way, they make a great statement. What you should look for in the art is that it says something to you. But, at the same time, you want it to work with the rest of the room.

Bold modern art also looks great in a room that is monochromatic or very subtle in color throughout. This gives the room some added punch that is necessary in decor.

Depending on the artist and many other points, you can pay thousands of dollars for a beautiful painting. But, there are also very affordable ones that can cost less than $100. Obviously it depends on your financial status and your likes. A good quality original painting is expensive, but it is also an investment. Many people have made a good amount of money buying and selling pieces like this.

If you are looking to buy a great piece, do the research you need. Learn about the various artists and what makes their pieces stand out above the rest. This will certainly help you pick work from one who is reputable and sought after, ensuring your investment is a good one.

For the most part, many of us are looking for artwork that is timeless and will stay with us forever. At the same time, many of us don’t have huge budgets for these items. But, not all is lost. There are lots of artists who create incredible works and sell them to make a living. These can be bought at galleries, in stores, and even on the streets.

If you love it and it speaks to you, then you are sure to find a place for it in your home. If you find one that you would love to use on a particular room in your home but it is too small for it, find a way to frame it so that it provides that impact that you were aiming for.

The truth is that modern art paintings started in 1870. It was basically termed this to describe art made with new ideas or different ways of seeing things. Take for example, the very famous impressionist, Claude Monet. As his sight grew poorer, he painted as he saw: out of focus. But, in the art world, this movement came to an end in the early 1970′s. From there on, post-modern began.
